Worcestershire County Council is committed to making its websites and applications accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This accessibility statement applies to the Worcestershire Growth Hub website.

This website is run by a third-party provider on behalf of Worcestershire County Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • zoom in without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard (including skip to content or skip to main navigation)
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader

Non accessible content

We know some parts of this website aren’t fully accessible:

  • many interactive features do not have a focus state so are not fully accessible to keyboard users
  • Links are not always descriptive and use vague terms
  • There is no skip to contents option
  • some search filters and forms are not fully accessible to keyboard or screen reader users
  • some forms are not labelled correctly for screen reader users
  • colour contrast makes it hard to read the text in some parts of the website
  • when zooming into the site some features do not work as intended

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliance issues identified below:

  • The website is not keyboard accessible, e.g. there are no focus states throughout the website (2.1.1 Keyboard (accessible by a keyboard)
  • The main menu dropdowns and other menus within the site cannot be activated using keyboard accessibility (2.1.1 Keyboard (accessible by a keyboard)
  • The accordion content on the co-working spaces page cannot be operated by keyboard navigation or screen readers (2.1.1 Keyboard (accessible by a keyboard)
  • When zooming into the site you cannot access the hamburger menu using keyboard navigation or screen readers (2.1.1 Keyboard (accessible by a keyboard)
  • There is no skip to content on any of the pages even though the accessibility statement says that is a feature on the website (2.4.1 Bypass blocks)
  • Most links within the body of the pages are named ‘click here’, ‘read more’ or ‘find out more’ (2.4.4 Link purpose (In context).
  • Colour contrast and poor colour use for the ‘required’ labels on the get in touch form (1.4.3 Contrast minimum)
  • Landmarks are not properly coded on the page (2.4.1 Bypass blocks)
  • The heading structure on some pages is illogical (3.1 Info and Relationships and 2.4.6 Headings and Labels)

This website was last tested during 7 January 2025. The testing was carried out using the following methods:

  • Axe Developer Tools to check the underlying code
  • Keyboard only access testing a selection of user journeys
  • NVDA screen reader testing a selection of user journeys
  • Zoom up to 400% to test that the site is responsive
