HR Essentials: How to Attract and Retain Young People in your Business

Following the success of the Worcestershire Growth Hub’s HR Essentials Workshop: Navigating 2024 Regulations & Workforce Strategies last month, the team is excited to bring Worcestershire businesses another workshop, focused on how to attract and retain young people in your business.
“You can’t be what you can’t see.”

Many organisations face challenges attracting young people into their teams, and once they have recruited them, sometimes have difficulty in retaining them post probation / initial training. The Worcestershire Growth Hub is bringing together an expert line up of speakers to help businesses navigate these challenges in practical ways and uncover strategies for success.

Join us on Thursday, 23rd January 2025 from 9am to 12pm at Redditch United Football Club, and become part of an important conversation about the future workforce. Whether you’re looking to improve retention rates, expand your talent pool, or better understand how to connect with younger generations, this workshop will provide actionable insights and support.

Through research via the Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) Careers Hub programme, it was found that 83% of employers say their work in schools and colleges is helping them develop new talent pipelines, and student feedback via the CEC Future Skills Questionnaire (FSQ) suggests there is increasing alignment between employer outreach activities and student interest in the sector.

This interactive workshop will provide Worcestershire organisations with practical tools and insights and include a thought-provoking Q&A session with a panel of young professionals. The panel will share their experiences – good and bad – and help businesses gain a deeper understanding of how to make their workplace a magnet for young talent.
