Local businesses can access Mental Health Support Service

Worcestershire businesses can access free, confidential mental health support for their workforce through the Access to Work Mental Health Support Service from the Department for Work and Pensions.

This resource aims to support businesses in prioritising mental health—boosting employee wellbeing and creating stronger, more resilient teams.

With research from Deloitte and Mind/FSB showing that poor mental health costs UK employers up to £56 billion annually, addressing mental health in the workplace has never been more critical. Mental health challenges have increasingly become a leading cause of employee sickness and absence, impacting productivity and team morale.

The Mental Health Support Service is quick and easy to access and can provide businesses with support with:

  • Up to 9 months of work focused mental health support
  • A personalised wellbeing plan, tailored to the individual’s needs
  • Coping strategies for the workplace
  • Advice on workplace adjustments

Organisations that actively support mental health gain more than a healthy team—they cultivate a workplace that values engagement, productivity, and loyalty. Employees who feel supported are more likely to thrive, contribute meaningfully, and stay committed to the organisation.
